After the Sedona Arts Festival show was over, I decided to make another raindrop bowl. I have a bowl mold that I hadn’t used before that I wanted to try out and I thought it would make a good experimental mold for the raindrop bowls. So, I used this mold for my next bowl and created the deep red raindrop bowl that you can see on the left. I thought that with the clear in the bottom layer it would be lighter in color, but the color turned out to be much deeper than I expected.
This mold actually has a foot to it and I was curious to see how well the frit balls would shape themselves to fit the foot of the bowl. Actually, they did quite well, as you can see from the close up of the foot on the right. I wasn’t expecting it to conform as well as it did, so I’m quite pleased with both the mold and the resulting red raindrop bowl it helped me create.
